Site & legal pages
This policy explains what information Nest Cub collects when you visit nestcub.com, why we collect it, who else can see it, and the choices you have. It is written to be read rather than to be survived.
1. Who we are
Nest Cub is a research-based publication covering nursery furniture, car seats, strollers and related safety topics. For the purposes of data protection law we are the controller of the personal information described here. Privacy questions go to hello@nestcub.com.
2. Information you give us
We only receive what you choose to send. That means the name, email address and message content you include when you write to us, and anything you voluntarily include in a comment if commenting is enabled on an article. We do not ask for, and have no use for, financial details, government identifiers or health information.
3. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting and analytics tools record technical information when a page loads:
- IP address, which may be truncated or anonymised by our analytics provider
- Browser type and version, operating system, and device category
- The page you requested, the page that referred you, and the time of the request
- General location at city or region level, derived from IP address — never precise location
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies for analytics, affiliate attribution and remembering basic preferences. Full detail, including how to turn them off, is in our Cookie Policy.
5. Third-party services
The services below process data on our behalf or set their own cookies. Each operates under its own privacy policy, which governs what it does with the information it receives.
| Service | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Understanding which articles are read and how people navigate the site | Anonymised usage and device data |
| Amazon Associates | Attributing purchases made through our affiliate links | Referral and click data set by Amazon |
| Web hosting provider | Serving the site and maintaining security logs | IP address and request logs |
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Amazon and Google receive data directly through the cookies and scripts they set; we receive only aggregated reports.
6. Why we are allowed to process this
Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for analytics and affiliate cookies, and on our legitimate interest in operating and securing a website for essential technical processing. Where you have written to us, we process your message to respond to it.
7. How long we keep things
Email correspondence is retained for as long as it is useful for handling your enquiry and any follow-up, and is deleted when it is not. Analytics data is retained according to the retention window configured in the analytics service. Server logs are rotated on our host’s standard schedule.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Residents of California have additional rights under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, including the right to know what is collected and the right to opt out of sale or sharing — noting that we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined.
To exercise any of these rights, write to hello@nestcub.com. We will not charge you for making a request, and we will not treat you differently for having made one.
9. Children
This site is written for adults making purchasing decisions on behalf of children. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact hello@nestcub.com and we will delete it.
10. Security and international transfers
The site is served over an encrypted connection and we apply reasonable technical measures to protect the limited data we hold. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries; where required, they rely on recognised transfer mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses.
11. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes we update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be noted on the page itself rather than made quietly.
